Clubs have traditionally, for over three centuries, provided a home from home environment, although nowadays an office from office environment is almost as important, where Members are able to meet like-minded people in comfort where, despite the often-luxurious surroundings, there is an understated elegance and quality to the day-to-day service. They still to this day provide a refuge where Members can seek solace in whatever may interest them as each Club has a very distinct reason for existing, depending on what brought the founding Members together, whether that be political, sporting, military, business or just somewhere where friends could meet and enjoy good company, great food and an exemplary wine cellar, away from the often fraught outside world. One key feature that stands Club apart from many other hospitality establishments is the way that Members treat staff. Staff in all Clubs are treated like family and looked after far better than is the norm for this industry. There is a great pride amongst the Members to ensure that staff feel a sense of belonging and longevity of service is a trademark of Clubs.
